Between one and seven people a day find their way to my blog by searching for variations on “allie brosh.” I can’t replicate this result. If you’re looking for Allie Brosh and Hyperbole and a Half, she’s THIS WAY.

I’m Jess, known to probably one person as “Toasty,” and then only in the specific context of a webcomic I have been encouraged to create. (Not-so-interesting fact: everything is an opportunity for a tangent.) My full first name is Jessie—not Jessica—and you’re welcome to address me by either my full name or my nickname: I’m just as unlikely to come when called.

I’m a contrarian with a B.A. in English Literature from a small liberal arts college. I’m in my M.A. year at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and on the road to a Ph.D. in English lit. In the department, I’m usually hailed as an early modernist and very occasionally as a Shakespearean. I like to rant about stupid things; I plan to make a living out of ranting about stupid things. Probably you found me, ranting away, on Twitter. My Twitter account, @toasterlicious, definitely predates this enterprise.

I did, indeed, find this through your Twitter posts. And, as a reminder, I’m the one who said you’re a nerd goddess. I wandered over here to see what you were up to and, lo and behold, you’re a Brainiac. If you were about two decades older you’d be Miss Right, though I am guessing your age from thin air.

Anyway, all this is just allot of inane babbling that boil down to this –

PhD in English Lit. HI! HI! HI!
I am kind of a Bruce Lee theorist–taking what I can use from many lenses to craft my own lit crit — BUT I am very heavily influenced by psychoanalytic lit AND some post-structuralism — but only as far as fragmented narratives are concerned … TALK TO ME!! lol my brain is starved for conversation! =-)
